Staff
At Miller Funeral Home, we are honored to have earned the trust and confidence placed in us by those that we serve. From the time the first phone call is received, throughout the service and beyond, each staff member at our funeral home contributes in an important way. We are very proud of our staff at the funeral home, and hope that you will take the time to learn more about them below.
Steven Anderson
Manager/Licensed Funeral Director

Steven was raised in Brooklyn Park, and his first job was bagging groceries at Holiday Foods in Fridley. He worked at the Fridley Target until graduating from Park Center High School in 1980.
Steve attended the University of Minnesota in search of a medical degree. While going to college, he worked at Hennepin County Medical Center on an Oncology Unit. This experience helped him understand some of the pain and suffering that individuals endure and the loss that families encounter while struggling with the effects of cancer and death. Because of the life changing experiences he had with these individuals and their family members, Steve changed his educational direction and in 1985, registered for the Mortuary Science Program at the University of Minnesota. After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1987, Steve joined the Miller family and has been with them since that time.
Steve and his wife Monie were married in 1985 and they live on a small hobby farm just north of Anoka. Steve and Monie are very actively involved with their children and with their church.
Our team here works very hard and often times very long, with compassion, sincerity, and integrity, to meet the needs of those who chose to use our home in the disposition of their loved one’s remains.
Glen Novack
Licensed Funeral Director
Glen was born and raised on the shores of Lake Superior, in Superior, Wisconsin. After high school graduation he attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth. While attending UMD, he was approached by a family friend and local funeral director about helping around the funeral home. Working around his school schedule, Glen washed cars, took care of the grounds and eventually he began working visitations and services, becoming more involved in the family business.
After finishing up schooling at UMD, Glen graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science.
In Glen’s words, "There is no greater feeling in the world than to help grieving families memorialize and pay tribute to their loved ones in their own special ways. Hearing a family say that you helped them through a difficult time and that they appreciate all you have done for them is enough."
Glen worked in Arizona for several years, Hudson, Wisconsin, and his hometown of Superior for 12 years prior. He joined the Miller Funeral Home Staff in 2010.
Glen has two children, Dmitri and Landen. In his spare time he likes to be with his family & friends at their lake cabin in Wisconsin, where they can hunt, fish, swim, ride 4-wheelers & snowmobile or just relax in the quiet of the northwoods.
Our team here works very hard and often times very long, with compassion, sincerity, and integrity, to meet the needs of those who chose to use our home in the disposition of their loved one’s remains.
Mark Stohlberg
Licensed Funeral Director
Mark was born in Fresno, California to a pastor’s family, and he lived most of his life in the Twin Cities area. Mark attended Minnehaha Academy, North Park College and the University of Minnesota where graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mortuary Science.
Mark has one daughter Gretchen, and her husband Chris; two sons, Devin and Chris; and two grandsons, Aidan and Logan. Mark is an active member of Salem Covenant Church in New Brighton. He enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as church activities, including singing in the church choir.
Monie Anderson
Pre-Arrangement Specialist
Monie has been very involved with service families since 1985 when she and Steve were married. Monie became interested in helping families plan ahead when the need became evident with her own parents. Coming from a family of six children, she is skeptical about how much would have been accomplished during her mom’s funeral arrangements, had her funeral not been pre-arranged. Monie has been assisting families with planning ahead since 2001, and she currently holds her resident license to assist families with the difficult decisions involved in the process. With Monie’s years of experience, she is able to confidently help families experience the value of a pre-planned funeral service.
Monie and Steve spent the first twelve years of their marriage raising their four children in Champlin, MN, before moving to Nowthen, where they now have a small hobby farm. When Monie is not assisting families at the funeral home, she is at the farm with their four children and numerous animals.
Our team here works very hard and often times very long, with compassion, sincerity, and integrity, to meet the needs of those who chose to use our home in the disposition of their loved one’s remains.
Mark Waznik
Funeral Assistant
Mark has been a part of the team at Miller Funeral Home since 2007.
After working with Kim for some time, Mark soon found out that he enjoyed contributing to the experience of celebrating the life of people’s loved ones. Creating the “just right” atmosphere is quite rewarding to Mark, knowing that families appreciate the care and consideration they receive.
Mark is present at many of the services and visitations through Miller Funeral Home, and he also helps prepare many of the details beforehand.
Mark and his wife, Holly live in Fridley.
