Marlene Wagner

October 15, 1946 — February 8, 2015

Marlene Wagner was born October 15, 1946 to Lorenz and Ella Mae Wagner in Olivia MN. Marlene grew up in Morton and attended Morton Public School until 9th grade then went to MN School for the Blind in Faribault MN, where she graduated in 1967. After graduation, she moved to Minneapolis and lived independently and was employed in many restaurants. Marlene also worked in a day-care center and was employed at Rise Inc. doing assembly work.

For the past 27 years she had resided at Bywood East Healthcare Center in Minneapolis. Throughout her adult life, she enjoyed many activities including being a member of a bowling league for the blind and traveling to different states for tournaments. She was very active in the Out of Sight Club, United Blind, Vision Resources and Diabetes Group. She volunteered at St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a member for many years and a lady's guild member.

Marlene always took part in the various activities at Bywood, especially Bingo. She was a frequent winner. There was a party for every occasion and she always made sure to attend.

She loved all of her nieces and nephews and rarely missed any birthdays or anniversaries. She enjoyed getting together with her family and the company of friends.

Marlene passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday February 8, 2015 surrounded by family. Marlene is survived by her brother Gene of Fargo ND, Sisters Darlene Martin and Brenda Wagner of Blackduck, Vivian Fish of Blaine, Joanne Elabedi of Brycelyn, LaVeda (Bob) Larsen of Morton and Berniece (Randy) Snyder of Bloomington Indiana. She has 17 nieces and nephews, 45 great nieces and nephews and 6 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Danny, sister Juanita St. John, nephews Daniel Martin & Brian Larsen, bother-in-laws Charles Martin & Tom Fish.

Memorial service 10:30 AM Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior. Memorials preferred to the family.
