Ranta, Scott, age 56, of Columbia Heights passed away suddenly on Aug. 3.
Scott was a "Proud Finn." He loved to be around people and people loved to be around him. From Cribbage games, work, ice fishing, deer hunting, cooking for groups and family, Scott was known as a people person. He had a heart of gold and will be well missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Pam and fur kids; Rex, Dory, Smokie, and Levi; father, Ray Ranta; brother, Jeff (Mary) Ranta; father-in-law, Martin Schelde; sisters-in-law, Lynn (Bill) Zuidema and Mary (George Wilkes) Schelde; his godson, Blake; nieces and nephews; Emily, Kaili, Leah, Peter, Clayton, and Mitch.
He was preceeded in death by his mother, Opal Ranta and mother-in-law, Edwina Schelde and fur kids; Punky, Dylan, Sadie, and Ruby.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date
In lieu of flowers; Pam wishes to donate the memorials to animal charities.
