Agnes Nelson passed away peacefully at her home on October 6, 2025, at the age of 97, surrounded by her loving family.
Agnes was born on July 13, 1928, in Henriette, Minnesota, to William and Anna (Shir) Ruzicka.
She married George Nelson in 1962, and together they were blessed with two children, Gordon and Linda.
A devoted homemaker, Agnes dedicated her life to caring for her family and others. She found joy in the little things — baking delicious apple and pumpkin pies, homemade breads, kolaches, and cinnamon rolls that filled her home with warmth and love. She loved embroidery, liked to fish, and never passed up a good shopping trip for makeup or a new purse. Agnes also enjoyed going out to restaurants for dinner.
Agnes was known for her kind and gentle nature. She often babysat for neighbors and later in life cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After George’s passing, Agnes moved in with her daughter Linda and son-in-law Mike, where she enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — sitting outside, watching her favorite shows, and spending time with the family pets.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George of 62 years, grandsons John and Clinton, and her siblings Helen, Gladys, Willie, and Adeline.
Agnes will be deeply missed by her children Gordon (Julie) and Linda (Mike); grandchildren Angela (Shawn), Janelle (Jake), Kayla (Jake), and Felicia; great-grandchildren Dylan, Logan, Shawn, Kaeson, Charlotte, Taelynn, and Ryder; her sister Dorothy Stransky; brother-in-law Gene (Judy); and many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Agnes’s life was one of quiet love, steady devotion, and heartfelt service to others. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and family traditions that will be cherished for generations.
