Age 88 of Minneapolis, MN formerly of Hibbing and Nashwauk. Passed away peacefully at 12:14 PM, Monday, September 13, 2010 at her residence in Minneapolis.
She was born April 9, 1922 in Hibbing, MN. The daughter of Albert George and Alice (Hannula) Trembath. Alice lived with great resolve. She lived each day with a loving and enthusiastic spirit. Everyone she touched truly felt her love and kindness. Alice left this world as she lived in it, conscious of God, her love for the Bible, her ascension and reunion with passed love ones in heaven, at peace, and surrounded by her family and friends. Alice was a member of the Hibbing High School band, and the National Honors Society. She graduated from Hibbing High School in 1940, Hibbing Junior College in 1942, and graduated with honors from Northwestern Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, MN in 1944.
Alice was united in marriage to Rudolf "Rudy" Haglund on September 10, 1946 in Hibbing. They settled in Nashwauk in 1946 where she worked alongside Dr. Kenneth Ahola of Hibbing and Dr. Robert Kelly of Grand Rapids at the Nashwauk Clinic. She worked as a medical technologist at the Eastern Itasca Clinic and the Itasca Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids. In 1966 Alice worked again, with Dr. Ahola at the Mesaba Clinic in Hibbing, after retiring in 1978, by invitation and with unwavering family support, she returned to work at Fairview Mesaba University Medical Center until 1987.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing and Fridley United Methodist Church in Fridley. Also a member of Jobs Daughtera�(TM)s, a past matron of the Nashwauk OES 277, and a member of the order of Easter Star Mesaba 211. A timeless volunteer to Range Helping Hands, Shrine Hospital, North Star Hospice, Range Creative Art Center, Range Seniors and numerous non profits.
Alice enjoyed life to the fullest, with her zest for life, her commitment to God, her many travels and adventures. She remained a great homemaker, a true and loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a best friend, that never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her warm smile, loving friendships, fun and wit. As well as her deep devotion to her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her boys, Rand and John of Minneapolis, MN ; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Edith Trembath of Hibbing; niece, Cheryl (Patrick) Wilson, Atlanta, GA; nephew, Kenneth (Claurice) Trembath, Redwing, MN; nephew, Scott (Bonnie) Trembath, Andover, MN; nephew, Paul Trembath, Ft. Collins Co; niece, Carol (Tom) Windfeldt, Minneapolis, MN; niece, Marion (Michael) Moody, Atlanta, GA; niece, Arlene (Mark) Silvia, New Hope, MN; numerous great-nieces and nephews; her beloved dogs, Coco, Baily, Chloe, Ashley and Bo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudy; brother, Stanley; and sister, Lucille.
Memorial Service Monday, September 27 at 1PM with a visitation one hour prior at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing. Officiating will be Reverend Terry Tilton of Wesley United Methodist Church and Reverend Deborah Walkes of Fridley United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing following the service.
