Alvin Bernard Melcher aka Honest Al, passed away on February 3, 2026 at 98 years. Born August 2, 1927 in Woodstock, Minn. Always a man ready for a good time with friends and relatives. An avid deer hunter and fisherman.
Al is survived by his dearest friend Leona Peterson, his sons Jim (Deb) and Tim (Kim), step-children Sharon (Arnie) Neil and Carol Hartman, step daughter-in-law Debbe Hanson. Many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Marlys, his son Bob, his brother Norm, his sisters Francis, Rosemary and Claire, his stepchildren and or spouses Gene Hanson, Judy (Tom ) Stewart and Joe Hartman.
Resident and parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 67 years where he was involved in many activities. Nicknamed "Honest Al" because he was always organizing a light hearted scam or card game. Give me a buck and guess how many jelly beans in the jar or how many fish will we catch. Who wants to play showdown? Then there were the "Roadkill" parties with white elephant gifts. He will be missed!
