Bengt Truedsson Monson, II also known as “CW4-Monson”, age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at his home, with his beloved wife, Annabel by his side. He was born on August 27, 1933, to the late Fredrik Monson and Jeanette (Hanscom) (Monson) McNaughton in Minneapolis, MN.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Miller Funeral Home, Fridley, MN. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Mark Watkins will be officiating. Bengt will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.

Bengt proudly served his country as a member of the US Army for 40 years, where he achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was united in marriage with his wife, Annabel (Bolfing) Monson on March 1, 1958, in Columbia Heights, MN. Bengt was also very active in the American Legion, Old Crows Associations, and on the board of trustees at Community United Methodist Church. He was a proud member of the Mayflower Society. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at the family cabin. Bengt also took many RV trips and several trips to Europe with his wife, Annabel.

Bengt is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Annabel; children, Lisa (Scott) Monson-Hokenson, Bengt (Dona) Monson III, Mark (Anita) Monson, Diane Monson, David (Jennifer) Monson; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree in Bengt’s memory or donate to Fisher House Foundation (a housing service for veterans and their families).
