Bernadette Bovy

Bernadette Ann Bovy “Bernie” age 84. A 54 year resident of Fridley passed away on July 14, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

Bernie was born on May 7, 1934 to Felix and Mathilda (Zwak) Skwira , in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  She grew up on the family dairy farm as one of 16 children.   She held many different jobs over the years, including working at Honeywell and being a key punch operator at Midland Co-op.  She met the love her life, Alvin, and they were united in marriage on October 17, 1955. She was a longtime active member of the Church of St. William. She loved to travel in her Motorhome, enjoyed her time in Arizona, and she could out fish anyone who dared challenge her.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Alvin; children, Cheryl (James) Jensen, Gail (Ken) Mostoller, Lynn (Terry) Ostlund; daughter-in-law Brenda Bovy;  grandchildren, Kristen (Derek) Nutter, Melissa (Samuel ) Strommen, Miranda Bovy, Melanie (Darrick) Becken, Ryan (Tess) Bovy, Brittney Jensen, Katy Ostlund, Heather Mostoller, Jake Ostlund; great-grandchildren, Griffin Nutter, Wyatt Nutter, Zoey Strommen, Teagan Nutter, and Taryn Strommen; 13 brothers and sisters; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Daryl; grandson, Matthew; sister and brother.

Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Church of St. William, 6120 5th St NE, Frildey, with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church.  Interment will be at Epiphany Cemetery.
