Betty Mortensen (Erickson)

Betty Jean Mortensen, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Andover and Ham Lake passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and deep love for those closest to her. She was a para-educator at Oakview Middle School prior to retirement.

Preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Geraldine Erickson, survived by her husband Warren (Mort) sons Brandt and Erik; brother Don (Sandy) Erickson sisters Donna (Mike) Pearson, Debbie Erickson and nephews, nieces and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.

Betty shared a wonderful life with her beloved husband, Warren (Mort) and together they raised two sons, Brandt and Erik, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her family was always at the center of everything she did, and she found her greatest happiness in spending time with them and watching them grow.

She had a deep appreciation for nature and the beauty of the world around her. One of her greatest passions was Ford Model Ts and beekeeping, a hobby that reflected her patience, curiosity, and respect for the environment. Whether tending to her bees, enjoying the outdoors, or simply taking in the changing seasons, Betty found peace and joy in the natural world.

Those who knew Betty will remember her for her caring heart, gentle spirit, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met. She touched many lives through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Betty's memory will live on in the hearts of her husband, Warren; her sons, Brandt and Erik; and all of the family and friends who were fortunate enough to know and love her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation July 14 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Miller Funeral Home (6210 Highway 65 NE, Fridley, MN 55432)

Celebration of Life: 11 AM, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 61 Mississippi St. Fridley, MN, with visitation one hour prior.   Small luncheon following service.
