Carol Gertrude McMahon

Carol Gertrude McMahon of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away on January 31, 2026 at the age of 90

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Paul and Mary "Molly"; grandchildren, Ally, Abby, Michael, Sam, and Ricky. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Dick McMahon; beloved sons, Michael and Thomas; parents, Nels and Gertrude (Hanson) Nelson; brothers, Robert Nelson, Orville Nelson, and Harold Nelson; and niece, Chey Nelson.

Volunteering at Open Arms of Minnesota became a meaningful experience later in her life. It led to beautiful, long-term friendships for her and Dick, who later volunteered with her after his retirement. Cooking, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying family pets was a big part of her life. She and Dick had the benefit of being able to travel, often with lifelong friends.

Mom lived a full life and will be deeply missed.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date. She will be interred with her husband at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Minneapolis.
