Carole Skalicky

Dearest Friends and Family,
It is with deep regrets and heavy hearts, that the family of Carole Skalicky want to inform you of the loss of their beautiful, loving mother!  She gained her angels wings and we are sure she is doing the polka with our dear dad, Hubert, in heaven!
Carole June (Holmberg) Skalicky, was born July 2,1928 and joined our heavenly Father on January 28, 2022!  She was an incredible, energetic person who touched all she met with unconditional love, nurturing, trust, and sincere caring! She had an energy and a spirit that never quit! She was the neighborhood "mom" to all children and a friend to anyone who called!  When needed, her door was always open with a lemon bar, blonde brownie, a cup of coffee, and many times some hugs and advice!

Carole was born to Swedish immigrant parents, Eric and Alma Holmberg, who homesteaded in West Rock, Minnesota in the late 1800s!  They immigrated from Jamtland, Sweden!  Carole was their tenth child, proceeded in death by nine siblings!  She was the "last of the BEST!   Carole attended West Rock country school and graduated from Pine City High School in1946!  She met Hubert Oswald Skalicky, when he return home from WWII!  Hubert was in the 82nd Airborne paratroopers unit!  They met at Swanson's Drug Store in Pine City dwhere Carole worked!  They were married July 11, 1949!  Hubert built them a home on Jackson Street, in Blaine, in 1952, where they raised their four children and made many lifelong friends!  It truly was an incredible neighborhood with hardworking people who had the bet values!
So many were blessed by her values, hopes ,and dreams!  Her legacy of love will be a source of strength and guidance to all she touched!  She was an incredible mother of four: Susan (Skalicky) Danielson (deceased in 2019), Pamela Skalicky,-Grove (Walter, deceased 2020)  Kim Skalicky, and Kevin Skalicky!  She was grandmother to Eric Danielson (Jessie), Alicia Skalicky, Kelly Marschel, Kyle Skalicky, and Travis Skalicky!  Her great-grandchildren include: Hunter Danielson, Ava Danielson, Cooper Danielson, Jack Marschel, and Brynn Marschel!  Carole was an aunt, a friend, a confidante, Girl Scout leader, church activist, and worked in District 16 schools until she was 84 years young!  She finished her career with many years of hardwork and devotion at Westwood Schools!  She will be missed by many!
May God hold and keep this incredible woman!  She will be guarding and guiding us, as always, from heaven!
Funeral services will be held on February 25, 2022.
