Colleen M. Hulke

Colleen Mary Hulke, née Honan, of Brooklyn Center, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025—the first day of fall. In a beautiful harmony of the seasons, she was born on March 21, 1942, the first day of spring.

Colleen lived a life centered on family. Always quick to brag about the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, she proudly told anyone that “she was blessed with family.”

Colleen was a talented seamstress, able to sew anything from everyday clothes to elegant wedding dresses—and her Halloween costumes were legendary among family and friends. Though she often joked that she couldn’t cook, she more than made up for it with her creativity and her ability to play the piano beautifully by ear. Her creativity and imagination made her home a fun, loving place to be. 

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ron, and her children: Cindy (PaulThibeault) Rowell, Carrie (?) Rowell and Jeremy (Sara) Hulke. Colleen was a proud grandmother to Arielle (John) Goebel, Rachel (Nick) Hruska, Bailey (Citlahli) Rowell, Brandy (TBD) Reichert; and Jack, Emelyn, and Britta Hulke. She was further blessed with great-grandchildren Orlando Reyes, Stella Reichert, Sebastian and Violet Goebel, Blake Hruska, Finley and Georgia Hanson, and Liam Rowell Reyes. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Diane Honan, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Honan and Charlotte and Don LaBissoniere; siblings Judy Roy, Mike Honan, and Mary Joyer; mother-in-law Amanda Hulke; and sister-in-law Annette Tigue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Sept. 26 at 10:30 AM with visitation starting at 9:30 AM , all at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Ave. N, Brooklyn Park 55445. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis at 2:00 PM
