Debbie was a devoted daughter and sister who, from a young age, embraced responsibility with love and determination. Growing up, she helped care for her three younger brothers. Though her brothers resisted being bossed around, their spirited nature made her time caring for them both challenging and memorable. She helped in teaching her oldest brother, Tom, how to read—so well that by the time he reached kindergarten, he was already helping his classmates. Debbie also played an active role in her parents’ dog kennel, assisting with the care that was going into the showing of their dogs. Their passion for dogs became her own, and throughout her life she found joy and beauty in caring for animals. Debbie was very particular about the dogs she adopted and had a deep appreciation for purebred dogs.
Debbie married the love of her life, Michael, in South Dakota, a place that held a special meaning for them both. Together, they spent many happy times there, enjoying motorcycle rides and trips to Sturgis. Known for their lively spirits, Deb and Mike loved to have fun wherever they went and never passed up an opportunity to visit a casino together.
They built a loving family and were blessed with three children: two daughters Shannon and Kelly, and a son Michael. Debbie cherished family time, especially traveling together to favorite destinations such as South Dakota and Duluth. Their family pets were also a part of the journey, reflecting Debbie’s lifelong love for animals. Sundays were always football day. Debbie loved watching football games, and was passionate about her favorite team, the Vikings.
In 1996, Debbie became a grandmother for the first time with the birth of her grandson, Tristen. She embraced her role wholeheartedly, taking great pride in being a devoted and loving grandmother. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her immense joy.
Debbie valued quality time with those she loved. She always welcomed visitors and treasured every moment spent with family and friends. Whether enjoying conversation, laughter, watching football together or a spontaneous trip to the casino, Debbie found happiness in shared experiences and meaningful connections. She will be remembered for her caring heart, spirited personality, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Preceded in death by her husband, Michael; parents, Loren and Marlene Moline. Deb will be deeply missed by her children, Shannon (Wayne) Aus, Kelly (Jon) Erickson, Michael (Jamie) O'Neel; grandchildren, Tristen (Aurora), Drew, Alexis (Lucas), Raygen, Michael Jr., Evelyn, Harper; great-granddaughter, Maria; brothers, Ken (Mary), Tom (Karen), John; many nieces and nephews.
