Doris Ione (Lund) Moxness, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025. Born on June 8, 1932, in Eau Claire Wisconsin, Doris was the first child of Alfred and Clara Lund. Their family lived in a brick house built by Alfred Lund, attended public school and were members of Grace Lutheran Church. After high school graduation, she went to St Olaf College, and in 1956 earned two degrees in Social Work and Religion. Doris was employed as a Lutheran Parish Social Worker for more than 15 years, first at Grace Lutheran in Eau Claire, followed by Our Savior's Lutheran in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and finally at St. Philip's Lutheran in Fridley, Minnesota.
Doris and Kenneth Moxness wed on May 9, 1970, and later had two daughters, Rebecca born in 1971 and Miriam born in 1975. Doris enjoyed her family, Bible Study, reading and listening to classical music. She was a talented artist and left behind artwork for us to cherish.
Doris is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Moxness and daughters, Rebecca Moxness (Tony Montgomery), Miriam Griffiths (John), grandchildren Tove, Edward, Clara and Vina, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Clara Lund, sister Lorraine Mattson and brother Arnold Lund. Family and friends are invited to a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. and a luncheon at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday August 21, 2025 at St. Philip's Lutheran Church 6180 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley, Minnesota.
