Florence B. Quick (nee Lymer)

Quick, Florence B. age 100 of Fridley, MN, passed away September 1, 2023. Florence (Flo) was born in Minneapolis, MN, on July 9, 1923 to Michael and Caroline (Chudzko) Lymer. Florence was a 49-year employee of Teamsters Local 359-970 and Teamsters Joint Council 32. She was a devout Catholic and a member of the Church of St. Williams (Fridley) since its inception.

Florence was a strong, independent and a deeply caring person. She was an avid world-wide traveler, both with her husband and children and also with friends. Her travel obsession began soon after her marriage and didn’t stop until she was physically unable to travel. There were countless family road trips across the USA and Canada when her children were young, trips alone with her husband and then trips with her family and friends after his passing. She’s crossed the Arctic Circle, ridden a camel in Egypt, trapsed across Europe, attended an audience with the Pope and checked off may other bucket list items. Florence made tons of her famous “on the road” sandwiches while in the passenger seat of the pickup truck while zooming down the road. She and her husband passed the love of travel down to each of their children.

Florence was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) of 49 years, her parents, Michael and Caroline (Chudzko) Lymer, her brothers and their wives, Leo (Florence) Lymer and Henry (Betty) Lymer and her son-in-law, Timothy Sather. She is survived by her children, Robert Quick, Patricia (James) Larson and Joanne Sather, as well as her grandchildren, Benjamin (Glenda) Quick, Eric (Kelly) Larson, Adam (Trudie) Quick, Kelly (Andy Kinser), Chrystina Donahue, Dain (Cassie) Quick and Elysha (Bill) Fitzgerald, step-grandchildren, Laura Ulak, Tim (Megumi) Sather and Jen (Brie) Sather, great-grandchildren, Christopher, Will, Lauren (Lee), Isaac, Chloe, Easton, Preston, Mason, Lincoln, Pazlee, Audrianna, Rennie, Frankie, Sarah, Kou, Dexter and Waverly. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and treasured friends.

Our family would like to thank the staff of Langton Shores and Optage Hospice for the loving care they gave of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to SACA Food Shelf in Columbia Heights, MN.
