Gary Robert Boyer

Gary Robert Boyer, 87, Fridley, MN, passed away on May 5, 2026. He was born January 22, 1939 in Hudson, SD to Ledru and Ella (Hout) Boyer, the fourth of twelve children.

Gary graduated high school and then attended South Dakota State University. After graduating, he moved to the Twin Cities. He worked as a printer for Deluxe Check Printers. Gary’s career with Deluxe Check lasted until his retirement, holding many job titles throughout.

Gary met Wanda at the Hennepin Avenue Methodist Church. They were married on May 10, 1969 in Milan, MN. Gary and Wanda made their home in Fridley where they have been for the last 50+ years.

After retirement, Gary volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. He worked part-time for SACA. He and Wanda volunteered for the Family Table at Fridley United Methodist Church as part of the dish-washing crew.

Gary loved to woodwork. He and Wanda belonged to a hiking club where he would sometimes lead and coordinate hikes in state parks around the area. The two liked to travel.

Grateful for sharing in his life are his wife, Wanda Boyer; five siblings, Penny Golden, Pam Rees, Lee Boyer, Kenny Boyer, and Danny Boyer; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ledru and Ella Boyer; and six siblings.

Memorial service will be held at Fridley United Methodist Church at a later date.
