Gary Bernard Luedtke, age 85, departed peacefully at home on May 17th, 2025.
Gary was born on January 12th, 1940 in Winona, MN, the son of Walter and LaVerne. He was united in marriage with Gloria Dawn (Kaslo) on June 4th, 1960.
Gary grew up on a farm in Winona County. He started driving trucks when he was 24 years old for Murphy Motor, BE-MAC and retired from ABF after 37 years of trucking. He was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Local 120. He was a car enthusiast and an avid sports fan, especially for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Whether in moments of joy or times of need, Gary's steadfast support was a source of comfort for all who were fortunate enough to know him.
We bid farewell to a man with gentle gestures, genuine intentions and presence that lit up a room full of people. His endless love continues to be our guiding light.
Preceded in death by: Father Walter; Mother LaVerne; Brother Kenneth; Sister Judi (Tom).
Survived by: Wife Gloria; Brother David (Tsuruyo); Sisters: Sandi (David) Matzke and Vicki (Charles) Andring, sister-in-law Darlene; Children: Randy (Heidi) and ex Jeannine, Rod (Jodie).
His legacy lives on through his Grandchildren: Mekayla (Nick) Johnson, Kelsey (Jake) Sundberg, Landan (Sam) Luedtke, Alyssa (Tim) Merritt, Kaitlyn (Max) Faulkner, Alexis (Derek) Luedtke; Great-Grandchildren: Ethan, Maverick, Logan, Tenley, Hallie, Desmond, Maddie, Griffin, Quinn; as well as many other family and friends who loved him dearly.
In celebration of Gary's life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday May 31st at 11am; with visitation one-hour prior at 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley, MN 55432. Luncheon to follow at Kraus-Hartig VFW in Spring Lake Park.
