Gaylene Mae Switzer, born April 9, 1935, passed away July 23, 2025, at the age of 90.
She was raised a farm girl in Cavalier County, ND, graduating from Hannah high school in 1953 in a class of 6. After high school it was off to Akers Business College in Grand Forks, ND for studies in secretarial duties. Upon completion, she worked in the city until the love of her life, Lee, captured her heart. They married July of 1957 in Provo, UT and enjoyed 68 wonderful years together.
Two children were born from this union, Kari and Jari (Jerry) Lanier. Gaylene has 3 grandchildren. Nicholi (Alexia), Matthew (Samantha) and The Little Princess, Cassandra (Kenneth Tietz). Gaylene has 4 great-grandchildren, Lily, Charles, Mackenzie and Henrik.
Family was by far the most important facet in this beautiful woman's life. Especially the "snail mail" letters she exchanged with "The Little Princess". She kept every letter in a scrap book for future generations to enjoy. Outside flowers at the family home also received a good deal of her attention as revealed by the final product.
Gaylene is predeceased by her Parents, Albert and Mable Nelson, and two Sisters, Phyllis and Alice. Survived by one Brother, Ronald.
There will be a visitation at Miller Funeral Home in Fridley, Thursday, July 31st from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be Friday, August 1st, 2025, at Living Springs Church, 8001 University Ave at 11:00 AM.
Private burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
