Gerald (Jerry) Carlson, born on March 23, 1928, in Willmar, Minnesota and passed away unexpectedly on May 22,2025, at the age of 97.
Jerry’s life was characterized by dedication and hard work, which began with his journey in the military where he served honorably. He was a man who embraced life with an infectious sense of humor and a positive outlook. He relished the simple joys, particularly those found in spending time with his love wife of 76 years, Betty. Together, they shared a passion for baseball, often enjoying the excitement of watching the Minnesota Twins. Jerry’s other interests include bingo, bowling, golfing, playing games, and spending time with family.
He took immense pride in his family, cherishing the moments spent watching his children: Karen (John) Eggert, Jodi Bechner, and Ron Carlson, grow and thrive. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Eggert and Miranda Bechner, as well as his adored great-grandchildren: Peter, Luke, Charlie, Grant, and Zachary Eggert. The love he fostered within his family will undoubtedly resonate through the generations.
Jerry was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Eggert, whose memory will be forever cherished by his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strong family values that will continue to inspire those who knew him. His kind spirit and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held on June 13th from 11-1 at Miller Funeral Home in Fridley. Private internment to follow.
