Helen Steinke

Helen Mary Steinke, of Fridley, passed away on May 12, 2021 at Park River Estates in Coon Rapids. She was 88 years old.

Helen was born November 25, 1932 in Eden Valley, MN to Martin and Helena (Hueser) Arnold. She was the last of 15 children. Helen grew up on a farm and developed a green thumb which she used throughout her life. She kept a vegetable and flower garden at her home in Fridley.

Helen and her husband, David, raised a family of four children. Family was important to Helen and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in later years. Helen was an avid sports fan and a devout Catholic. Her faith was important to her and she prayed the rosary daily.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, David; parents; brothers and sisters: Isabelle Johnson, Henry Arnold, Teresa Binsfield, Albert Arnold, Romuald Arnold, Marcus Arnold, Laura Loch, Florbert Arnold, Cecelia Colbert, Genevieve Lies, Elmo Arnold, Richard Arnold, Marcella Weber, and Phillip Arnold.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Helen leaves to mourn her loss her children: Donna (Bob) Buchanan, David (Karen) Steinke, Dan Steinke, and Diane (Rob) Starkey; 7 grandchildren: Leah (Jason) Ryan, David (Roxanne) Steinke, Mariah Steinke, Derek Buchanan, Wyatt Buchanan, John Starkey, and Ryan Starkey; great-grandchildren: Michael Ryan, Joseph Ryan, Autumn Ryan, and Madelyn Steinke; other loving family and friends.

Visitation 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 17th at Miller Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18th with Visitation at 10:00 a.m. at Church of St. William in Fridley.

Helen will be laid to rest beside her husband, David, at Assumption Cemetery in Eden Valley, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls.
