Jeffrey Hermansen

May 16, 1964 — November 27, 2021

Princeton

Jeffrey Allan Hermansen, age 57 of Princeton, MN, passed away at 2:11pm on Saturday, November 27th, 2021 surrounded by his fiancé and children, after a 4-week battle with Covid.

He was born May 16, 1964 in Robbinsdale, MN.  The son of Herman and Diane (Moffat) Hermansen.

Jeff attended Robbinsdale Senior High School and enlisted in the Navy after graduation in 1982.  He served his country from July 1982 – March 1984, attending U.S. Naval Submarine School and served in the weapons division as a submarine Torpedoman, aboard the U.S.S. Ray, SSN-653 nuclear powered fast-attack submarine, stationed in South Carolina.

Jeff was a man of God who shared the love of Christ, and always had an optimistic view of life.  An “eternal optimist” as he was often called.  He was a family man; loving his fiancé, children, and grandchildren more than words can describe.  He raised his children with the love of Christ, providing them with a life rich in experiences, love and laughter from the time they were born.  His happy place was his cabin in Winter, WI on Blaisdell Lake where numerous wonderful memories were made.  The joy he felt when spending time there with his fiancé, family and friends is immeasurable.

Jeffrey loved everyone unconditionally and made friends everywhere he went.  He traveled to his Grandfather’s homeland of Norway, in 2018 with his daughter Ariel, and was able to meet his relatives and see the Hermansen homestead.  It was a dream trip he cherished and always wanted to return with the rest of his family one day.  His passion for people led him into a life-long career in Sales, making many friendships along the way.  Jeff will be remembered most by his smile, infectious laugh and vibrant personality, which could light up any room.

Jeff is survived by his fiancé and love of his life, Blythe (Clugston); Three children: a daughter, Ariel Hermansen of Shoreview; a son, Brock and Selena (Lerfald) Hermansen of Minneapolis; a stepson, Logan Fritz of Phoenix, AZ;  3 grandchildren: Lillian Reeve, age 3;  Kade Allan, age 3; Leonardo Jeffrey, 1 month; a sister, Julie Fahey of Coon Rapids, and one niece, Ashley Heir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Craig and sister-in-law Linda.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 6th from 4-7pm at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley, MN.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 7th at 11am, at Miller Funeral Home with a brief viewing available 1 hour prior.  Pastor Greg Grimstead will be officiating.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow the service at Moe’s Bar & Grill, 2400 County Hwy 10, Mounds View, MN. There will be an opportunity to say a few words and share stories about Jeff at that time.

A private burial will be held at a later date, when Jeffrey will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN with full military rites.
