Jerry Allen Hunstad

Jerry Allen Hunstad, 69, of Fridley, MN, died peacefully on December 6th 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

Jerry was the second born of four children to Earl and Joyce Hunstad of New Brighton, MN. He had a childhood filled with scouting, camping, fishing, and family gatherings with his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jerry was a dedicated husband to Julie, his loving wife of 37 years and partner in a shared life of ministry. He was a devoted father to Andrea, Amber, and Elisabeth "Lisa" and enjoyed supporting them in their activities. Jerry was a hard-working man who built a career at Walbon & Company as a diesel mechanic and fleet manager. In his free time, Jerry was an avid fisherman and all-around handyman. He had a good time playing games with anyone who wanted to try beating him.

Jerry loved the Bible and was saved by Jesus. Jerry had a passion for people and spent his time in retirement volunteering at his church. He was enthusiastic about lending a hand whenever it was needed. Jerry’s service included building fences, repairing equipment, teaching Awana Cubbies Christian ministry for preschoolers, leading food distributions, and traveling on mission trips to Nigeria.

Children were drawn to Jerry, who had a gentle nature and was always eager to play or entertain with his Donald Duck voice.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Julie Hunstad; his children, Amber Hunstad, Andrea (Kenn) Spencer, and Elisabeth (Justin) Rhodus; his wonderful grandchildren, Sean, Gavin, Liam, Tye, Taylen, and Kade; sister, Darlene (David) Williams, brothers, Wayne (Kyle) Hunstad and Dean (Lois) Hunstad, and a large extended family.

Celebration of life will be held at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Fridley on December 20th, 2025. Visitation is at 10:00am, service at 11:00am, lunch to follow.
