Vassar, Kendall J. Age 85, of Aitkin, formerly Columbia Heights, passed away October 16, 2013. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Ken was an avid fisherman, hunter, winemaker and Knights of Columbus member and Boy Scouts leader. Survived by wife, Harriet; and 5 children: Linda Huber (Chuck), Larry (Lynda), Marcy Sibell (Don), Jerry (Debbie), Kim Vassar-Kuss (Todd); 11 grandchildren: Heather, David, Julie, Ross, Tyna, Amanda, Jacob, Beau, Briana, Lindsay, Landry, and 10 great- grandchildren. Funeral service Saturday, October 19, 11:00 am at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 129 29th Ave NE. Visitation one hour prior to mass. Private interment. Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society.
