Raaen, Lois E. age 86 of Fridley. Beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. Lois was born on June 7, 1924. She was born in Sherburne, Minnesota. Her parents, Tom and Mabel Murphy, moved to Minnesota from Illinois, where Tom was a grocer. They moved from Illinois to Sherburne, Minnesota, to farm. They had a farm in Sherburne and later in Welcome, Minnesota. They stopped farming in 1936 and moved to Minnesota Lake.

Lois is the 3rd oldest of 12 children. Oldest to youngest: Veronica (Louis) Sonnek, Margie (Edward) Staloch (now deceased), Ella Mae (Harlan) Embertson (now deceased), Mary Goebel (now deceased), Delores Wingert, Rita (Ken) Garrey (now deceased), Eileen (John) Roozen, Thomas (Cora) Murphy, James Murphy (now deceased), Bernie (Norm) Wilke and Jean (Vic) Ruhland.

Lois graduated from Good Council Catholic Academy. She moved to the Twin Cities with her sister Ella Mae. They lived together as young adults until each of them married. Lois was married to Harlan W. Buck who preceded her in death at an early age. She went on to marry Emmett J. Raaen (now deceased). They were happily married for 25 years. Lois has one daughter, Linda J. (Dennis) Moll. Lois has two granddaughters: Melanie (Don) Novitsky and Tiffany Anderson. She has two step grandchildren: Steve (Andrea) Moll and Kim (Travis) Spaeth. She also has great grandchildren: Donald, Kevin, Kennedy, Eden and Jubilee Lois Novitsky and step great grandsons Tyler Draack, Conner Moll and Caden Spaeth. Lois also has many nieces and nephews.

Lois worked in retail, most recently at Marshalla�(TM)s in Blaine. She retired in late 2002, at the age of 78. Prior to her many years in retail, she had worked in the printing industry.

Lois suffered a massive stroke in March of 2004 which left her body paralyzed but never broke her spirits.

Loisa�(TM) hobbies included gardening, flowers, an occasional visit to the casino and most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral service Tuesday 11 AM with visitaion 1 hour prior at St. Philip's Lutheran Church, 6180 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley. Interment Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Heart Association.
