Age 88 of Fridley passed away peacefully January 22, 2023 from natural causes. Mark grew up in the Milaca area working on the family farm. He lived in Fridley for the past 53 years. Mark was a long time member of the Carpenter's Union, he began building homes with his brothers and moved into a career as a commercial superintendent. In his retirement years, he was known as a handyman/jack of all trades. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus. Mark's passions included hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, playing cards, as well as President of the Fridley Little League, umpiring and coaching many of his children's teams. He was heavily involved in each of his kids' sports and was the number one fan of his grandchildren. Mark was very proud of his family and enjoyed talking about them. Preceded in death by loving wife of 43 years, Arlette; parents Leo & Mae; siblings Roger, James, Wilfred, Eugene, Mary & Madonna. Survived by children Todd (Kris), Lora (Michael) Gitzen, Karla (Kevin) Sundem, Mark (Angela), David (Joe'l); spouse Betty Motschke; grandchildren Jared, Jordan, Steven, Danielle, Luke, Alison, Andrea, Jeff, Wyatt, Alyssa, Adam; sisters Rita Novak, Ila Judd, Gertrude Ronning, Laurell, Maggie (Chuck) Novak; brothers Leo (Judy), and Severin (Carol). Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Saturday January 28 at St Timothy's Catholic Church, 707 89th Ave NE Blaine, MN. Visitation one hour before Mass at the church. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery, New Hope, MN.
