Martha M. Anderson, 88, Fridley, MN, passed away on April 14, 2026. She was born August 6, 1937 in Isanti, MN to Roy and Venzora Falk; the third of six children.
The majority of Martha’s childhood was spent on a farm outside of Dalbo, MN. She and her siblings were close as children and remained close throughout their adult lives. Besides working on the farm, the Falk kids loved roller skating, often putting on shows at the roller rink. Martha graduated high school from Princeton in 1955. Following high school, she moved in with her sister, Connie, in Uptown at age 17. Connie’s connections at Land O’ Lakes led to a job for Martha.
While employed at Land O’ Lakes, Martha met John Anderson who was an accountant for the company. This connection led to a 44-year marriage beginning on February 18, 1961. They had three children, Brian, Lisa, and Craig. The family made their home in Fridley, where Martha was proud to have lived in her home for 61 years, even surviving the 1965 Fridley Tornado. Martha and John loved travel, road trips with their kids and internationally. A favorite was visits to Hawaii, which Martha dreamed of going to since she was a girl. They enjoyed their involvement at Redeemer Church which they joined in 1964. They were both integral parts of various ministries, volunteer opportunities, a long standing small group bible study, and travel with dearest friends. They of course delighted in time with their grandchildren.
Family was of the utmost importance to Martha. She took pride in being a homemaker. It became her form of love-giving. That love extended beyond the walls of the family home. She volunteered in her neighborhood as a block captain for decades. She was a talented baker who was well-known for her monster and chocolate chip cookies, always made with Land O' Lakes butter. She was a friendly hostess who was genuinely welcoming and a delight to be around. She loved greeting all she encountered with a big smile and hug.
Martha enjoyed crafts, most notably, knitting, scrapbooking, and cross-stitch. Journaling was a legacy passed down by her father, Roy, that continued throughout her life. She enjoyed playing games, with laughs and snacks, never concerned about the win. Martha was a loving, kind, joyful, content, and hopeful person whom we will miss dearly.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Brian (Caroline), Lisa (John) and Craig (Jean); grandchildren, Mark (Hayley), Danielle, Ben, Mason, and Grace; great-grandchild, Brynn; siblings, Milo (Louise), Carol, and Steve (Aggie); brother-in-law, Pete; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Roy and Venzora; and sisters, Connie and Sharon.
