Mary Brandt

December 25, 1932 — November 13, 2022

BRANDT (Allen), Mary L., age 89, of Fridley, passed away on Nov.13, 2022 surrounded by family.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Ernest & Jenny Allen; sister, Jean Ashcraft (Norman).  She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 70 years, Delmar “Del” Brandt; their beloved children, Debbie Gisch (Daryl), Lloyd Brandt (Diane), Vickie Pitney (Kurt); grandchildren, Scott Brandt, Kristi (Mark)Vandivier, Shawn (Mary) Fiddler, Jennifer (Justin) Gates, Heather (and friend Mat Hoyt) Brandt, Ryan (Emillie) Brandt, Jack Pitney, Sarah Pitney; great grandchildren, Toby, Kayla, Hannah, Everlee and Ryker Brandt, Shaunna Zanker, Brandie, Austin and Kodie Vandivier, Connor, Logan and Patrick Fiddler, Nate, Cheyenne, Clayton, Emma, and Hayden Joyce, Hayden and Harper Gates, Laken Brandt; great great grandchildren Brannaugh Brandt, Laken, Baylon, and Malkyn Zanker, Ellie, Hunter, and Serenity Vandivier; many other relatives and good friends.

Mary was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on Dec. 25, 1932. She graduated from Nashua High School (IA) and married her high school sweetheart, Del. She worked in the meat department with her husband, provided day care to families, became a certified CNA and worked in Algona, Ia, Fairbault, MN and Humboldt, Ia until she retired in 2002.

The world was a better place with Mary in it. Being kind to others was important. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing, crafting, woodworking and family time. Mary always was thinking of other people and would use her money to buy supplies to make or bake something for someone else. Her gifts to others was a symbol of her deep love of family and friends.

A Family Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, Nov. 26th at Miller Funeral Home, with visitation a half hour before service.
