Mary E Sundell

There will be no services for Mary E. Sundell, age 83, who passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Brightondale Assisted Living in New Brighton.

Mary, known to family as Toppy, was born on December 9, 1941 in Minneapolis to Peter and Ellen (Johnson) Johnson. She graduated from South High in Minneapolis in 1959. Mary was united in marriage to Ronald “Ron” Sundell on January 7, 1960. Together, they have lived in New Brighton since 1968. Mary was a homemaker for all of her life raising her two children, Tim and Richard, and became a foster parent for seven children. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

Mary is survived by her husband, Ron; sons, Tim (Mary) and Richard; sister, Dorothy (Sonny) Knudson; grandchildren, Ben (Courtney) and Kate; great grandchildren, Eli and Jude. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Bob and Dick Johnson.
