Mary Zlimen

Mary Catherine Zlimen passed away peacefully on February 19, 2022 at her home in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota.  She will be sorely missed by her surviving husband, Frank, and her children, Jennifer and Michael.

Mary grew up in Kelly Lake, Minnesota, graduated from Hibbing High School and St. Cloud State and moved to Spring Lake Park in 1969.  She touched many lives over several decades as a teacher and substitute teacher in the Spring Lake Park school district, where she was fondly referred to as Mrs. Z.

Her acerbic wit was matched only by her loquaciousness, as all who met her quickly learned.  Mary had an enviable green thumb and a talent for turning harvested vegetables into delicious meals.  She was an avid follower of Minnesota sports, enjoyed reading, neighborhood card games and yelling at WCCO call-in shows, but her true joy in life was winning jackpots at Grand Casino.

An informal gathering for friends and relatives will be held at Miller Funeral Home in Fridley, MN on Tuesday, March 1 at 11 AM.
