Melissa Margaret Lea

Missy was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend. God unexpectedly called her home on July 11, 2026, at the age of 46 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Missy brought joy, love, and, laughter a happy smile to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved music, TV, and being around lots of activity. Missy's ensemble always included a barbie doll and a rubber glove for the day. Jamie, Missy's caregiver of 25 years, and Carissa, her best friend, would both brighten her day the moment she saw them. 

Missy is survived by her father, Al (Jan) Lea of Ramsey, MN; her mother, Kate McCabe of Ladysmith, WI; her sisters, Holly Lea of Monticello, MN, Heidi (Mike) Traeger of Andover, MN, Michelle Pratson of Woodstock, VT; brothers, Sean Ritter of Minnetonka, MN, and Scott Pratson of Lake Geneva, WI; many cousins, family, and friends. 

Missy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stanely and Lillian Lea, James and Alma McCabe; uncle, Wayne Lea, and aunts, Phyllis McCabe, and Mary Jo McCabe. 

Service at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 16345 Polk St, NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304, on July 30, 2026, at 10:00 am with visitation one hour before service. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450, following a light luncheon at the church. All are welcome to accompany family to the cemetery.
