Nancy Grieman

July 8, 1967 — January 7, 2023

Beloved mom, daughter, sister and friend to many, Nancy Leann Grieman died unexpectedly in a snowmobile accident on 1/7/23 in Hibbing, MN at the age of 55.

Gone much too soon, Nancy is survived by her parents, John and Joan of New Brighton, MN; children, Alexandra “Ally”, Carter and Taylor Hoyt; siblings, Amy Bobb of Ramsey MN, Angie Imholte of New Brighton MN and Ginny Slack of New Brighton MN. She is preceded in death by grandparents Roy and Agnes Grieman and Stephen and Leota Schultz of St Paul MN.

Nancy was born on 7/8/67 in Minneapolis, MN and grew up in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from Irondale High School in 1985 and worked in the service industry, traveling the world as a flight attendant for Pan Am and taking pride in delighting her customers as a server in many Twin Cities restaurants. Nancy welcomed 3 beautiful children and several beloved pets into her home. The only thing bigger than her heart was the pride she felt for her kids. She was a fierce mama bear who encouraged them to stand up for themselves and reach for the stars.

Nancy lived and loved freely with great passion. She was an extremely charismatic social butterfly who loved to have fun, laughing at herself, being on the water, singing, dancing, being silly and talking for hours to anyone and everyone. Inquisitive and charming, Nancy would walk into a room of complete strangers and walk out with dozens of stories and new friends. Equal parts fire and water, Nancy’s dynamic personality could be sassy and relentless yet generous and sweet. Her bright smile, heartfelt hugs and infectious laugh will be dearly missed.

A visitation is scheduled for 5-8pm on Monday, January 16th at Miller Funeral Home in Fridley. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 17th at 12PM with visitation one hour prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Brighton with a reception to follow. Nancy’s uncle, Fr. Jerry Grieman, will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nancy’s life. Please be prepared to share your favorite memory of Nancy.
