Nicole suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on Saturday June 7.
Nicole grew up in Woodbury, MN and graduated from Tartan High School. She then went on to the University of Minnesota where she was president of her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega and graduated with a degree in child psychology. Following graduation Nicole worked as an education assistant at Lionsgate Academy which sparked her desire to fiercely advocate for autistic individuals. After leaving Lionsgate she continued to run a Boys Group for young autistic men. She took them on many adventures and provided numerous opportunities for them to grow their independence and community ready skills.
Nicole’s never ending desire to help and care for others continued as she worked as a nanny while attending nursing school. After nursing school she was offered her dream job as a pediatric nurse at Children’s MN. She gave each and every patient so much love and care. She was an extremely talented and caring nurse. She touched many lives and made a lasting impact during her time there.
Nicole had many interests including painting, crafting, hosting celebrations, and being the best dog mom to her 3 dogs, Lyla, Carl, and Charlee. Nicole loved listening to music and somehow always ended up winning her fantasy football leagues. She recently discovered she had quite the green thumb and was excited to create a beautiful garden in her new home.
Nicole’s most beloved title was “Auntie NiNi”. She cared deeply for her niece, Evelyn, and her nephew, Beau. She always brought the fun whether it was messy arts and crafts, discovering the coolest parks and splash pads, or attending their various sporting and school events. She was an enormous part of their everyday lives and her loss is deeply felt.
Nicole was sweet, sensitive, caring, and selfless. She was funny, brave, and a great problem solver. She loved the people in her life deeply and unconditionally. She positively impacted so many during her short time here. She will be deeply, deeply missed.
We hope you will join us at a celebration of her life on Thursday, June 26. Details below. Please wear bright colors to represent the love and light Nicole brought into every room she entered.
