Raymond Elroy Iverson was born in Henning, Minnesota on 7/1/1938 to Herbert and Lillian. His family moved to Washington state when he was five and remained there until returning to Minnesota in 1970. He joined the Air Force as a cook at seventeen and also received his GED. He traveled to Japan and Okinawa and served for 4 years. He was united in marriage to Patricia Jeanie Dahlvang on 4/7/1973. On May 3, 1974 they welcomed a set of twins, Daniel Ray and Donna Jean. Ray worked many years as a truck driver and at machine shops. In 1976 they moved into their home in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota. Ray was known for his ability to fix anything. He was a handyman at the highest level. He would say he was a jack of all trades and master of none. He thought it was more important to know a little about everything instead of a lot about one thing. Ray retired from RAO Manufacturing in Fridley after 16 years. He enjoyed playing cribbage, watching TV, sweets of all kinds, and vanilla ice cream with Hershey’s syrup.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lillian; siblings, Herbert (Edith), LaVonne, Doris (Melvin), James (Irene), Duane “Ivy” (Fern), and Harry. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Pat; Children, Dan Iverson and Donna Prewedo; Grandchildren, Danielle, Nicolas, Jacob, Jason, Jayden, and Jackson; many nieces and nephews as well many special friends and wonderful neighbors. Ray passed at home on 4/11/2023 at 84 years of age.
