R'Dene Lois Gertrude Everett

R’Dene Lois Gertrude Everett, 88, Mounds View, MN, passed away on August 13, 2026 with her husband of 70 years by her side.  She was born September 4, 1937 in Alexandria, MN to Edward and Irene (Madash) Norling, the youngest of four children. 

R’Dene attended school in the Alexandria School District, graduating a year early in 1954.  She grew up attending the Alexandria Congregational Church.  R’Dene stayed home on the family farm to help her dad, a WWI vet who suffered a stroke.  Her dedication to taking care of others led her to a career in the Mounds View School District as a paraprofessional.

While on Main Street in Alexandria, R’Dene met her future husband, Robert “Bob” Everett.  He and his friend were visiting from Madison, MN and he knew she was the one from the first time he saw her.  The couple met in 1955, then Bob joined the Navy.  They were wed on February 4, 1956 in Alexandria. Bob and R’Dene had 3 children; Kim, Kelli, and Robert “Bob”.  They moved to many places in Minnesota before settling in Mounds View. 

R’Dene was a huge fan of Minnesota teams, but loved the Twins the most.  She enjoyed watching sports.  More than anything, R’Dene was loving and caring.  She kept herself busy by cooking, canning (her specialty was pickles and sauerkraut), baking for family and friends, and loved gardening. 

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Bob Everett; children, Kim (Eugene “Boxer”) Richards, Kelli (Jim) Bratz, and Bob (Deb) Everett; grandchildren, Tyler (Andrea) Bratz, Austin (Kia) Bratz, Mackenzie (Klent) Flores, and Marlee Everett; and great-grandchildren, Owen Bratz and Levi Bratz; and a great-grandchild on the way, Baby Flores. R’Dene was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Irene Norling; and brothers, Enfred “Shorty” Norling, Roland “Jim” Norling, and Worrell “Whirley” Norling.
