Renee Baggenstoss

Oct 8, 1933 — Jul 22, 2026

Renee Therese Baggenstoss was the eldest (and only remaining) of five children born to her parents Renel and Carolyn Rousseau. She was born in Maple Lake, Minnesota and raised in Annandale. Renee graduated high school and later married James Raiche. They have five children together. James passed years ago at the age of 70. Their eldest son, Joseph, tragically passed on June 15, 2003 at the age of 48. Renee is survived by Julie (70) married to Rob Krogfoss, Sally (66), Nancy (65) and John (63). Renee was blessed with ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Jim and Renee lived in Sleepy Eye initially then moved to Fridley. Renee was a stay-at-home mother for several years before getting a part time job in the business office at Dayton’s in Brookdale. She later accepted a full-time position (also in the business office) at Minor Ford in New Brighton where she was employed for over 20 years.

Renee was a dedicated homemaker, and she was a great cook and baker! She made homemade meals, cookies, and all sorts of desserts. Renee maintained a neat and organized home and yard. She loved planting lots of flowers and pots every Spring. Our family had many special Christmas’ and other holidays over the years.

Renee remarried in 1977 to Leon Baggenstoss who passed on November 7, 2024. Lee and Renee lived in Fridley and had a cabin in Princeton that they enjoyed for many summers. Our family had several dogs over the years that we all loved. Renee loved to read, ride her bike into her 60’s and often walked her beloved dog, Auggie. (that John gave her!)

Christian faith was important to Renee throughout her adult life. We attended church together as a family when young. Renee would gather us kids to kneel around one of our beds to say our prayers before sleep. Renee read her bible daily for many years along with watching bible teacher Joyce Meyer. She kept a large picture bible on our coffee table in the living room. Lee and Mom continued to attend church until they could no longer safely drive. Throughout the years, Renee volunteered at her church in various ways.

Renee spent the past few years residing at White Pine in Blaine. She enjoyed many activities including music, bingo, and church. Renee was visited often by family and friends. She was well loved by staff and residents.

We live our blessed hope through Christ and know she is in her heavenly home! Amen!
