Reuben A. Peterson, of Spring Lake Park, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Suite Living of Little Canada. He was 90 years old.

Reuben was preceded in death by his wife, Junis; brother, Farrell Peterson; young sister, Helen Peterson; nephew, Gary Peterson.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Joel) Larson; son, Darren (Shelley) Peterson; grandchildren: Jeremy (Elise) Larson, Andrea (Paul) Johnson, Ryan Peterson, and Trevor Peterson; great-grandchildren: Austin Larson, Makenna Larson, Rylee Larson, Teagan Larson, and Claire Johnson; brother, Edward Peterson; nieces and nephews; other loving family and friends.

Reuben grew up on a farm in Dalbo, Minnesota, the youngest of three boys. He graduated from Princeton High School and served in the Army where he served in Korea. He worked as a U.S.D.A. grain inspector.

Reuben enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family every summer at the cabin. A selfless, generous, and loving husband, he acted as a caregiver to his wife, Junis, as her health failed due to Parkinson’s. Reuben was kind, and easy-going with a gentle spirit. The workers at the nursing home where he passed called him “Grandpa.”

Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17th at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 61 Mississippi St. NE, Fridley, with Visitation one hour prior. Burial at Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids.
