Robert Anderson

Anderson, Robert G. age 88 of St. Paul, formerly of Fridley. Grew up in NE Mpls. and attended Columbia Heights High School. Robert proudly served in World War 2. He enlisted in the army paratrooper/air corps late in 1943 at age of 17. He shared that he and Columbia Heights Medal of Honor winner James La Belle (Marine Corps) went together to enlist at Fort Snelling on the same day and then went their separate ways. Preceded in death by wife, Angela; son, Jay; daughter, Cheryl Adams; brother, Curtiss; sister, Sue Blochowiak. Survived by daughters, Christine Anderson, Robin (Jerry) Thoreson; step children, Gary Swanson, Sandra (Jamie) Case; grandchildren, Lucas Nord and Isabel Nord, Sofia (Adam) Kettle and Greta Deane, Joshua (Claudia) Case, James (Sarah) Case, Sarah (Robert) Philiposian, Sandi Adams, Erin (Ryan) Flaherty, Lori (Nate) Hathaway; great-grandchildren, Anthony Kettle, Jay and Jonah Case, Olivia, Ethan and Owen Case, Jacob, Matthew and Cidney Philiposian, Mackenzie and Cole Hathaway. Memorial service Thursday 11:00 A.M. with visitation one hour prior at Miller Funeral home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley 763-571-1300. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
