Roger Martin

December 21, 1978 — October 30, 2025

Blaine, MN

Roger William Martin, 46, Blaine, MN, passed away on October 30, 2025. He was born December 21, 1978 to Bryan and Tere Lynn (VanFleet) Martin in Newton, IA, who preceded him in death.

Roger moved to Minnesota as a child and attended schools throughout the Twin Cities metro. Over the years, he worked a variety of blue-collar jobs, bringing deep and broad technical and mechanical skill, experience, grit, and good humor to every crew. For the past eight years, he served as Maintenance Manager for Cornerstone Parking Group—a role he took pride in, knowing it meant keeping things running smoothly for everyone else.

Helping people brought Roger his greatest joy. He was a relentless tinkerer and self-taught Engineer—if something could be learned and repaired, he’d study it for hours until he figured it out. When his niece’s car broke down, he taught himself how to fix it. Those small, but hugely impactful, everyday rescues were Roger’s quiet way of loving his friends and family.

Movies were a constant in his life—especially adventure and action films—and he was known to keep two or three screens going at once. He enjoyed hunting and was making plans to try magnet fishing with his friends. Animals were drawn to him; even the feistiest cats eventually settled into his lap.

Roger had a quick wit, a generous laugh, and a fierce love for his family and friends. He showed up for each of them in a hundred practical ways—with steady help, a big heart, and no need for fanfare.

He is survived by his brother, Shane (Julianne Pederson) Martin; his sister, Erica (Phillip) Rape; his half-sister and brother, Mary and Shawnn and their families; many nieces and nephews; his best friend, Ed Doran; and many others who will always be grateful for his loyalty, kindness, and quiet strength.
