Thomas Larson

October 26, 1945 — August 13, 2023

Thomas Larson, a dedicated firefighter, loving husband, father, grandfather and proud Vietnam Veteran, passed away peacefully in the arms of his beloved wife on Sunday, August 13, 2023.

Born on October 26, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Marjorie and Harry Larson. Thomas attended Patrick Henry High School. After completing trade school he enlisted in the Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. The proud veteran participated in numerous causes that supported fellow veterans. In 1978 he met and married the love of his life Debbie Kehr and together they had 3 daughters.  Shortly after starting his family, Thomas began working as a firefighter for the city of Fridley and spent over two decades there. He put his life on the line to protect others. He displayed unwavering bravery and dedication throughout his career, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community he served. Thomas always went above and beyond to ensure the safety of others, putting their well-being before his own. Thomas enjoyed fishing, vacationing with his family and decorating for all holidays, but perhaps none more so than Christmas. His creativity shone through as he transformed his home into a winter wonderland each year. The sparkle in his eyes mirrored the twinkling lights adorning every corner of his house. Thomas reveled in creating joyous experiences for those who visited during this special time of year.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Debbie; children, Lisa (Brad) Born, Sarah Larson, and Julie (Albert) Garza; grandchildren, Aubrey Born (Braden Okerlund), Autumn Born, Lilian Garza, Ava Born, Sabrina Garza, Natalie Larson, Thomas Garza, Jaxon Garza, and Annabella Born; 1 great grandson who is due to arrive in December; siblings, Susan (Jerry) Richardsen, Pat (Bob) Bliss, and David (Loretta) Larson; as well as many nieces and nephews family and friends.
