Vince "Vinnie" Allen Zellmer

To have known Vince, meant you were blessed beyond measure. Beloved Son, brother, uncle, stepdad, grandson, nephew, cousin, dear friend and child of Christ.

Vince (Vinnie) Allen Zellmer, age 44 passed away at home to join the Lord on May 22nd, 2025. Vince was born on 11-15-1980 in St Paul, MN to parents Curtis and Holly (Bauer) Zellmer. He graduated from White Bear Lake in 99, during his school years he played the drums proficiently and dabbled with the guitar, he was impassioned with music of many genres, and loved horns of all types.

After graduating Vince went into the army and he received an honorable medical discharge in the 1st year due to bone spurs that didn’t allow him to straighten his right arm. It is in the army Vince developed a love for cooking. He was a great cook and loved to entertain. He absolutely loved good food and sharing with friends and family. Vince also loved owning Harley motorcycles. He did recreational runs, runs with a purpose and general commuting. Unfortunately, on 4/20/19, he was on a fundraiser ride when a car struck his bike and threw him 200 feet. He sustained a brain injury with bodily damages and gave up biking. After the accident he spent a few years in rehabilitation and never made a full recovery. He tried and no longer could sustain the rough ride of his dump truck. It became too much for his pinched nerves and other damages to spend hours in his dump truck and he sold it. Vince was a mechanically gifted man and repaired small engines to his diesel big rig and everything in between.

He wore several career hats, but most of his years he was in logging and as a truck driver. His little dog Zoe was his companion from 2011 to early 2025 when cancer took her life. Vince went everywhere with her and she was often found on his shoulder. She was his princess travel companion in his big rig days and brought him so much joy.

Vince was an avid researcher and spent hours learning homesteading skills. He started with gardening, then added chickens and lastly meat rabbits. This and health studies drove his interests among a myriad of other things. Over the last year and a half he dedicated his habits to organic eating, organic fabrics and striving to lose weight to heal his body. Over that time he slowly took off about 75lbs and his goal was achieved. He loved sharing his knowledge and tips with others. He always was trying to help his mom’s quality of life too. Vince had a delightful gift of gab and welcomed conversations with people of all ages and interests. If you couldn’t locate Vince, he was usually off helping a loved one or stranger in distress.

Prior to July of 2022 Vince regularly helped with Holly’s care. July of 2022 he became one of her regular caregivers officially as part of her care team staff. Vince was dedicated to providing for her care until he passed away. The loss of his love, support and contributions as a son and caregiver leaves a heartfelt void. He was a compassionate son and would find joy growing flowers. He brought beautiful bouquets to work to brighten the day along with his big smiles. His laughter and banter with all that he encountered was infectious, joking around to win a grin was something that brought joy to his heart. He enjoyed his time with the Lord, His word and sharing his love of God at every opportunity.

Vince is survived by his Father and mother, Curt and Holly (Bauer) Zellmer, Sister Jillian (Zellmer) and Ben Aschittino, nephews Trenton and Mitchell, niece (Sophia) Rae, Stepchildren Donald and Aryanna, grandfather, many uncles, aunts, cousins and dear friends.

Vince’s family will announce a celebration of life in the near future.
