Circle Pines

Hoverson, Virginia May "Gen" age 75 of Circle Pines.

It is our sad duty to report the passing of Virginia (Gen) May Hoverson,.

Gen was born in St Joseph's hospital in Brainerd Minnesota on March 8th 1944.  She lost her battle with cancer on May 14th 2019 , she was 75.  She is preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Violet Anderson; sister,  Marian Lease; husband, Clayton Hoverson; and her daughter, Brenda  Berndt.

Gen is survived by, daughter, Dorothy Thomas and husband Brian; brother, Art Anderson and wife LaVonne; granddaughter, Melissa Koski and (Kurt Mattson); grandsons, Wayne and Douglas Berndt; great-grand daughters, Kailyn Mattson, Selena Berndt; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gen was a hard working single mother of 2 living in Hillman Mn.  She met and latter married Clayton Hoverson.  They moved their family to the twin cities.  Gen and Clayton bought 40 acres outside of Wright Mn and proceeded to to build a weekend get away sanctuary.  Together they raised garden produce they shared with friends and family, she really thrived in the rural outdoor setting.  Gen spent most of her adult life as an industrial seamstress, spending the last 21 years working beside her daughter, Dottie.  Working side by side they formed a tight mother, daughter bond.  Gen was a quiet, reserved person, most of the time.  There wasn't a project she would not tackle.  She took the lead when Clayton had major heart issues, with her help they spent many more years together.  Sometime after Claytons passing,  Gen met Ken.  They spent a few years together, weekending at the Rat Lake cabin.  Gen eventually bought a house across the street from her daughter Dottie.  This allowed Gen to spend the last years of her life close to Dottie and Brian.  When Gen was diagnosed with cancer, Dottie was there for her.  She helped Gen get through all her cancer treatments.  Sometimes, no matter how hard you try,,, you just can't win.  Thankfully, Gen was able to spend her last days at home with Fred and Barney (her cats) by her side.
She will be missed.
