Warren Jacobson, 91, of Corcoran, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 19, 1934, in Alango Township on Minnesota’s Iron Range, Warren was the son of William and Melia Jacobson. At age eight, the family relocated to a farm near Cook, Minnesota—a move Warren fondly remembered as “the last great cattle drive in Minnesota,” as they walked their ten cows eight miles to their new home.
Warren attended school in Cook and graduated in 1952. He spent the next three years working aboard taconite ships on the Great Lakes, traveling between Duluth/Superior and Buffalo, New York—a job he often recalled as his favorite. His journey then took him to Chicago and Los Angeles before returning to Minnesota, where he earned his electrician’s certification from Dunwoody Institute. Warren began his career working on various Minneapolis projects before joining General Mills headquarters as a Maintenance Electrician, a role he held with dedication for 35 years.
Shortly after graduating from Dunwoody, Warren was set up on a blind date that would change his life—he met Mamie “Connie” Anderson, the love of his life. They were married in 1965 at Mount Olivet Church and soon welcomed two sons, Daniel and Kevin. The family lived in Crystal, Minnesota for several years before building a home in Corcoran, where Warren and Connie raised their boys and spent the rest of their lives together.
Warren had a deep love for the outdoors. He was an enthusiastic camper and deer hunter, but his greatest passion was fishing. For over two decades, he and his close-knit group of “fishing buddies” embarked on annual fly-in trips to Ontario, chasing Canadian walleyes and making lifelong memories. He was also a devoted fan of Minnesota sports, faithfully cheering on the Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, and the Gophers football and basketball teams. A skilled woodworker, Warren spent countless hours in his basement workshop crafting stools and other pieces, many of which became cherished gifts for family members.
Warren and Connie shared a strong faith in Christ. They were longtime members of Joy Free Evangelical Church in Rogers, Minnesota, and after retirement, attended Maple Ridge Church in Maple Grove.
Warren was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mamie Constance Jacobson (Anderson); his parents, William and Melia Jacobson (Kinnunen); brother, Kermit Jacobson; and many dear aunts, uncles, and in-laws. He is survived by his brother Paul Jacobson, sister Ann Krueger; sons Daniel (Julie Weis) Jacobson and Kevin Jacobson (Amy Cathey) Jacobson; grandsons Gus and Ray Jacobson; sister-in-law Sharon (Anderson) and Stretch Klotzbach; brother-in-law Paul Anderson; and many loving nieces and nephews.
