Minneapolis

Peters, Dennis J "Pete"

Born November 19, 1941 passed away June 9, 2020 at the age of 78. Survived by wife and lifelong partner, Jan; daughters, Jana (Dan) Gladieux, Shannon (Rick) Santo, Jodi (Sue) Peters; son, Tony (Judy) Hargreaves; sister, Janet Schuldt; and many family and friends.  He was preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Theresa; brother, Larry; and sister, Karen.

Pete grew up in North Minneapolis and loved to play hockey at the local park with his friends and go with his big brother to the race track.  By following his brother to the race track began his love for all types of racing. For 40+ years he was a mechanic at Hoover Wheel Alignment and worked on Tom Hoover's race car 9 months out of the year also. He travelled all over the world including England and Australia for racing. He also loved being out on the water in the summertime, whether it was water skiing or just being on the boat or pontoon soaking up the sun with friends and family. After many years of battling different health issues his body was tired and he welcomed the call Home.

There will be a visitation open to those who knew and loved him at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley on Sunday June 14th at 11am with a remembrance service at Noon. Masks are strongly encouraged but not required.
