Dianne Allison

Dianne Sue Allison age 83 of Fridley, MN and formerly of Superior, WI died peacefully in Maplewood, MN on June 18, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Dianne was born July 18, 1937, in Superior, WI to Astrid and Vernon Backlund.  She graduated from Superior High School in 1956 and married Phillip C. Allison.  They were married 64 years.

Dianne had many careers in her lifetime from office manager at Miller Research in Fridley, MN to Clerical Staff at Diseases of the Skin Clinic in Fridley MN.  Her most loved position was working with kids for Spring Lake Park School district in their afterschool program  Dianne was an avid crafter, she sewed, crocheted and stamped her own cards for many years.  Dianne had a love of children and spent a lot of time with her grandchildren over the years. Even after losing her memory, she would light up in the presence of her great grandchildren.

Dianne is preceded in death by her husband Phillip Allison, her parents Astrid and Vernon Backlund, brothers, Vernon, Marvin, Ramon and Dale all Superior, WI.  She is also preceded in death by her five sisters, Patsy, Carol, Sandy, Marla and baby sister Nancy Lee,  all from Superior WI.

Dianne is survived by her longtime best friend Cleo Johnson, her brother Jimmy (Mary) Backlund of Superior, WI, her 3 children, Denise (Dennis) Lanoux of Stillwater, Glen (Wendy) Allison of Woodbury and Darlene (Dennis) Mongoven of Apple Valley, MN.  She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Allison (Chris) Markall, Jennifer (Eddie) Allison- Myers, Heather Ransom, Phillip (Ashley) Mongoven, Chad (Briana) Lanoux, Marissa (Ben) Mongoven and Madelyn (Ryan) Mongoven.  She is survived by 8 great grandchildren, Alayna & Alivia, Micah, Lily and soon to be born Annika,  Sylas, Kenlee and Blayke.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their special care of Dianne in her last days.

A funeral service for Dianne and Memorial Service for Phillip to be held on June 28th at Augustana Lutheran Church, 3251 Midway Road, Duluth, MN  55810 10:00 AM Visitation and 11:00 Service.  Interment to follow along with lunch.
