She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank John and Hazel Ellen (Steele) Yohnk, her two sisters, Amber Jean Erickson and Jeanette Violet Lowry, and her husband James (Jim) Richard Bukosky. Joyce is survived by her daughters, Karen June (Bill) Snedeker and Diane Kay Donnelly, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Joyce was born on August 2, 1927, in Cadott, Wisconsin. She attended a one-room schoolhouse with only four in her grade school class. In 1945, she graduated from Cornell High School. She then attended the Vocational School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

She was an accomplished knitter and also had a “green thumb,” but especially enjoyed genealogy, tracing her family’s history back to the 1600s. She was very proud of her extensive collection of family records and photographs.

Joyce had a long and successful secretarial career. Her final position before she retired in December 1986 was with Senator Roger Moe, the Majority Leader of the Minnesota State Senate at the State Capital Building in St. Paul, Minnesota.
