We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Miller Funeral Home & Crematory
Age 82 passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022.
Larry lived a full life. The oldest of Ed and Clara Weatherly he was raised in Pipestone County Minnesota, and attended the University of Washington as part of the ROTC program. As a Naval Aviator he flew 300+ missions in Vietnam and spent time as a Navy flight instructor. After leaving the Navy, he worked a variety of jobs including crop dusting and community action while raising three daughters. He spent a number of years working for Cencom, Inc. in Rushford, MN before moving to the Twin Cities where he did consulting work before retiring. He married Andrea in 2009 and enjoyed being primary caregiver for their son - it made him realize how much he’d missed with his girls.
Larry believed life was for living and did his best to live it to the fullest. Whether fishing, grilling, making wine, or making sure he had a car that would accelerate well, Larry was focused. He loved to tell stories - and had many to tell to those who would sit and listen. Perhaps most importantly, Larry cared deeply about people - his relationship with family and friends was a way to live his faith.
He is survived by wife Andrea; children Susan (Charles) Heylman. Federal Way, WA, Eugenia 'Genie’ Weatherly of Pipestone, MN, Ericka and Michael Lentner of Foley, MN, Karen Weatherly of Colorado, Isaac Weatherly; stepchildren Christopher (Melinda) Thach, Ames, IA, Kimberly (Eric) Walcott, Huntersville, NC; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings Loren (Mark Phillips) Weatherly, Sacramento, CA, Loel (Kathy) Weatherly, Mesa, AZ, Linnea (Randy) Heinz and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by sister, Karen; grandson, Anthony, and parents.
