Marlin Rolf Melquist, "Mel," of Spring Lake Park, passed away on June 6, 2022 at his home. He was 89 years old.
Born 1933 in Cokato. Mel worked for Honeywell and Graco, retired in 1995. Mel married Darlene Brelje in 1958 and had 3 children: Michelle, Greg (Diane), and Barry (Julene); 6 grandsons: Lucas, Jeremy, Travis, Jack, Mitch, and Peter.
Mel served in the military in Guam with Special Category Army with Air Force (SCARWAF) building landing strips. Mel was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6587 and a member of American Legion Post 363.
He was preceded in death by mother, Gladyce; father, Harry; and brother, Charles.
Mel had a strong faith in the Lord and he loved his family dearly. He enjoyed all MN sports, visiting his farm in Cokato and playing cribbage.
Visitation at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13th at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Blaine.
Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14th at Cokato City Cemetery in Cokato.
