Sharon Gray

October 28, 1932 — August 16, 2022

GRAY (Nordstrom), Sharon R., 89, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Fridley, MN. Sharon Rae was born October 28, 1932, to Norman and Mildred (Capron) Nordstrom. After she graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1951, Sharon married Lawrence D. Narey in April of 1953. They had two sons, David and John. In December 1960, Sharon married James L. Poole and moved to Chicago, Illinois. After Jim’s death in 1979, Sharon married H. Rhea Gray, Ph.D. in March of 1985. Sharon and Rhea enjoyed golfing and spending time with friends and family. After retirement, they moved to Bonita Springs, Fl, where they enjoyed sun and fun!

Sharon was a “go-getter”, according to her sisters, always striving to do her best.  After graduating from high school, she became Bookkeeper for Boren Builders, St. Louis Park, MN for 13 years and Chief Accountant for Mobtown Chicago for over 30 years. Sharon was an excellent golfer scoring 3 holes in one and was club champion on 3 different occasions. Sharon enjoyed traveling with annual trips back to the Midwest and Carolinas visiting family, friends and attending her high school reunions. Other lifetime interests were playing Bridge, financial investment clubs, crossword and Sudoku puzzles and enjoying a glass of pinot grigio in the evening. She carried a deep responsibility to the communities she lived in by participating in various charitable organizations. She was especially proud to be associated with Habitat for Humanity, donating both time and possessions to help those less fortunate than her. She was a very social person. She could always bring life and joy to any event she attended. Sharon’s faith was very important to her and a practicing Lutheran in all communities where she lived. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her “boys”. She will be remembered for her sharp mind, beautiful smile, fun-loving spirit, and living life on her terms.

Sharon is survived by her sons, David Narey(Gina), and John Poole, and 7 grandchildren: Beth Mand (Mark), David Narey Jr., Castine Poole, Smyth Poole, and Claudia Grey (Reed), Thomas and Daniel Narey: her sisters, Norma Moon and Diane Holstrom; stepdaughters Bevan Rogel and Dara Gray; and great-grandchildren Vivian and Luke Mand; and several cousins, many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Geraldine Nordstrom, sister Margaret Bauch, husbands, Jim Poole and H. Rhea Gray, brothers-in-law, Thomas Bauch, Howard Moon and Gary Holstrom. A private memorial will be held by the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at Miller Funeral Home, C/O The family of Sharon Gray, 6210 Hwy 65 Ne, Fridley, MN 55432 . No flowers. A donation in her memory with Habitat for Humanity would be greatly appreciated by the family.
