Shirley J Amundson, age 74 of Blaine. An angel went home on Nov 25th , 2020 after her short battle with COVID.

Preceded in death by parents James & Joyce Harkins, she is survived by daughter Michele Amundson, Fiance’ Clarence Johnson, Sister Colleen (Bruce Landeck) Brother James Harkins II, Brother Tom (Gretchen Harkins) and many loved nieces and nephews.  Born in St Paul, and was raised in Minneapolis; she graduated from North High School in 1964. After graduation she learned the printing industry trade by working with her grandfather and after a 33 year career, she retired from Smyth Printing Co. She had a warm wonderful spirit that showed in everything she did. She loved nature and life. One of Shirley’s greatest passions was fishing which she learned the art of from her father, even catching a 39 inch Musky one year. She enjoyed many summers at her lake home where she would  take delight in watching the humming birds and eagles, or be out on the water searching for the next big catch. She called it her “Happy Place”. Always giving of her time and talents, she took pleasure in cooking and baking, hosting many memorable family holidays’. She was very creative; making cards, jewelry, and crocheting were just some of her many talents. She was Clarence’s sweetheart of 16 years. They enjoyed winters’ in FL where they spent time finding sharks teeth and beautiful treasures of the sea. They also took many adventurous road tips and some of her favorite places were Northern CA where she could listen to the waves crashing on the rocks, the Grand Canyon, and around Hoover Dam.  Shirley was as beautiful on the inside as she was out. Very kind, loving and giving who was always doing for others. She will be deeply missed.  In time we will all be together again.  A celebration of her life will be held later in the Spring.
