Wilfred "Ike" Eidenschink

Wilfred “Ike” Frank Eidenschink of New Brighton, MN.  Passed away on December 30, 2020, at Banner Health hospital in Mesa, Arizona due to complications from Covid-19.  He was 88 years old.

Ike was born at the family farm in Detroit Lakes, MN on October 4, 1932.  The youngest of 9 children to Louis and Catherine Eidenschink.  He was a graduate of Detroit Lakes High School, Class of 1951.  Ike served in the United States Air Force A1C from 1952 to 1956.  A former administrator at Hennepin Technical College (HTC) from 1972 to 1994, where he gained lifelong friends.  Ike knew how to live life to the fullest and enjoyed hunting, fishing, his John Deere tractor, cabin friends and his place on Sand Lake (ikevilla), playing BINGO, dancing with his gal pal, Nancy and especially time with his family.  Ike was a very generous man always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that asked. He was a social butterfly that made friends wherever he went and was an honorary grandpa to many. Ike’s stories, catch phrases, and “Ikisms” will be shared for many years to come.

Survived by: companion: Nancy Schauer; daughters, Cindy Brose, Linda (Garry) Holmberg, Lisa (Steve) Kloncz, son, Jeff (Jill) Eidenschink; grandchildren, Brooke & Calla Brose, Dustin, Cody & Hunter Holmberg, Carissa & Alec Kloncz, Lauren & Greta Eidenschink; great-granddaughter; Lilly Kriz; siblings,  Francis Carlson, Vera Heimerl, Rosie Speldrich, Evie Howe, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife Valeria (2010); brothers, John Eidenschink, and Frank Eidenschink, along with two sisters,  Theresa Baros, and Genevieve M. Olk.

A private family service will be live streamed here on this page on Wednesday, January 20 at 2:00 PM.
